Root cause of Fertility Issues in both male and female

Understanding Fertility and Infertility Issues.

Infertility is the inability of a couple to achieve conception after one year of repetitive unprotected sex. Causes of Infertility is not sex dependent as 40% of causes is from the Man and another 40% is from the Woman, with the remaining 20% linked to unknown causes.

A wide range of physical and emotional factors can cause infertility. Infertility may be due to problems in the woman, man, or both but most often than not, infertility are normally caused by problem arising from the defects of any of the pathways in the genital tract of the male and the female sexual organs.Problems which involve an obstruction, damage or hypo function of the pathways, we would start from female causes:

Lets start from female causes.
Female infertility may arise when a fertilized egg or embryo does not survive once it sticks to the lining of the womb (uterus),the fertilized egg does not attach to the lining of the uterus,The eggs cannot move from the ovaries to the womb or The ovaries have problems producing eggs.

Likewise Male causes, alot of factors most of which are listed below are responsible for infertility in males.
For pregnancy to occur the sperms cells must be released from somewhere, and travel through its natural defined pathways that the sperm takes before it gets out of the penis.

The sperm cells usually flows from the testes to epididymis to vas deferens to seminal vesicle to urethra and out.
It starts from the testes, that is where the sperm cells are produced and mature. A Mature sperm cell has a head, body and tail. The head carries the genetic copy of the host (it determines the sex of the future baby), the body provides the energy to sustain the sperm cells while the tail allows the sperm cell to swim effectively.
if the above natural process do not take place, then fertilization of the female eggs won't occur and the resultant effect is infertility caused by the man.

IVF treatment is used in those cases where the woman has tubal blockage, the man has a poor sperm quality, or the cause of infertility is unexplained.

This procedure addresses mainly male factor infertility, and have reduced considerably, the use of donor sperm in infertility treatment/management.

This is used if the man has a slightly reduced sperm quality, if the woman has irregular ovulation, and/or if the cause of infertility is unexplained.

No Sperm At All?

If there are no sperm cells in the man’s semen, the sperm cells can be extracted directly from the epididymis – this procedure is called TESA.
